Loss market shares
Loss market shares are calculated by dividing a company's stochastic losses across all events by the industry insurable losses across all events (by peril, area or subarea, and LOB).
More specifically, Loss market shares (LMS)is the sum of all the company losses (for all 10,000 years) divided by the sum of all industry losses (for all 10,000 years) for a given (sub)area and LOB.
The loss market share calculation is available only when a matching industry loss file (ILF) exists for all models in the selected company loss file CLF).
Verisk supports the loss market share (LMS) calculation for all existing perils, except for terrorism and pandemic. Only models with 10K ILFs will have LMS calculated; 50K , 100K and 500K are not supported.
