Analysis

An analysis in Touchstone Re is a probabilistic analysis of your aggregated loss or exposure data.

An analysis can help you understand the potential losses to your portfolio in a given year from current or potential reinsurance treaties. For example, the results may help you determine:

  • Whether you have the capacity to assume additional risks.

  • Whether to reinsure a specific book of business.

Note:

All programs in the analysis must be associated with exposure or a loss file, or with a source program which is associated with exposure or a loss file. If this condition is not met, the analysis will fail.

You run an analysis on a reinsurance program or portfolio of reinsurance programs. During the analysis, Touchstone Re uses a set of simulated events that you select to produce a range of potential annual losses due to perils. Touchstone Re then adjusts the losses for reinsurance program terms.

Your installation requires a license to run an analysis.

Users with administrator privileges can:

  • Set defaults for the Analysis Settings pane.

  • Create one or more templates.
