Multi-year analysis
Steps to generate a multi-year analysis in Touchstone Re.
Touchstone Re can run analyses on individual programs or portfolios which span multiple years using inception and expiration dates for contracts that span periods of up to five years. To support this feature, Touchstone Re uses re-sampling of Verisk's 10,000 simulation years on a model-by-model basis, allowing for different combinations of events across models in subsequent years. This can be used with any Verisk 10K Event Set.
Some features are not supported for use with Multi-Year analysis, such as Analyze Re Portfolio Rollup and the Advanced Loss Modification suite (EP Adjustments, Custom Models and LOBs, and Event Based Adjustment Factors).
Event date filter
The Event Date Filter analysis option allows users to specify the range of contract in-force dates to be included in an analysis. For a multi-year analysis, this option will be set to the “Portfolio Multi-year Start Date” defined in the Administration Console for portfolios, or to the program's inception date for programs. The user may change the start date, including to a date before the program inception, to maintain consistency of treaty losses between program and portfolio analysis. The End date will be set to Program-specific, but can also be adjusted.
Results
Loss results viewed in the dashboard and exported to CSV will apply to the entire program period (up to five years), such as in the Summary EP Table and export.
For a Multi-Year analysis, the Event Loss Summary Table and Event Distribution Export will display Day values greater than 365 and a Calendar Year column to indicate the year of the event within each simulation (1 to 6).
DLF export for Multi-Year results is not supported.
