  A reinsurance program (AOL) where the reinsurer indemnifies the ceding company for that portion of the loss that exceeds the limit of its own retention for a given year.

  Aggregate exposure is the sum of exposures by group.

  The maximum loss that can be incurred by the layer across all occurrences within each year.

  Demand Surge is the increase in prices for labor and materials following a catastrophe, as contractors take advantage of the increase in demand for repairs and replacement construction.

GML vector file

Vector file which can be imported into and displayed by Touchstone Re.

Touchstone Re supports import of GML vector files (.gml) as map layers. You can import the following geometry types, where polygons are imported as polygon objects, lines as lines, and points as points. Note that you cannot use geometry types that are incompatible with SQL Server geography objects, including polygons with inner holes.

You can import projected GML files.

If you use GML with an external schema in .GFS, the auxiliary files may cause inconsistency in the spatial references. Touchstone Re will compare the GFS and GML files and try to overwrite the GFS file to match the GML file.
