Import India crop exposures

Handling India crop exposures.

Import > Exposure > India Crop

Touchstone Re's native geography for the India Crop model is State > District. Clusters (a group of districts within a state) are handled by Touchstone Re only during import.

If exposure is imported at the cluster level, it is then disaggregated to the district level during the import.

Procedure

  1. Select Import > Exposure > India Crop.

In the Import dialog box, Import Type will be set to Exposure - India Crop. Note that exposures for both crop seasons are included in the import.

  2. Select an input file to import; this must be from a UNC folder.

This input file is a CSV file containing valid fields: state name, cluster assignment, 3-letter currency code, units (ones, thousands, millions, billions), crop-specific LOB columns (season and crop type).

The next fields (Peril, Data Type, and Currency & Units) are disabled and have default settings.

  3. Enter or select a company name to import the exposure into.
  4. Enter or select an exposure set to assign the exposure to; overwrite or append as appropriate.
  5. Select an import year.
  6. Click Verify.

If a warning message appears, click the message for information.

  7. Click Import to import the data. If there is a problem, click the warning message for details.
  8. If applicable, click Close to exit ImportExpress.

Results

The task appears in the Activity Monitor queue. After the activity is complete, Touchstone Re opens the exposure set.
