More on India crop
India crops by season.
The Verisk Multiple Peril Crop Insurance Model for India provides a probabilistic view of potential losses by crop season in mainland India for a variety of crops (and sub-categories, irrigated, rain-fed, unspecified water management), as summarized in the following table.
|
Crop Season |
Crops |
|---|---|
|
Kharif |
Rice, cotton, soybean, maize, peanut, pearl millet, and other. |
|
Rabi |
Wheat, rice, chickpea, sorghum, mustard, and other. |
The model includes losses arising from many natural perils, including weather-related events such as drought, heat waves, and cyclones.
To account for crop districts and clusters within India, the new country "India Crop" has been included in the Zone Set Manager. When managing exposures, select India Crop as the country in the Exposure pane; toggle between Kharif and Rabi to display the crops as LOBs by season.
