Event distribution to ULF: source

Steps to convert an event distribution to a ULF.

Tools > Convert Event Distribution to ULF: Source Setting

Procedure

  1. Verify the location and accessibility of the event distribution source file.

    This location must be on a network server and must have read access.

  2. From the global menu, select Tools > Convert Event Distribution to ULF
  3. In the Source Settings tab:
    1. Click to browse to the location of the target input file, select the file and then click Open.
      • This is a required field.

      • This file must have an .csv extension.

    2. In the Loss Set Name field, enter a name, up to 255 characters.
      • This is a required field.

    3. In the Event Set field, enter a name for the event set that will be created from this conversion.
      • This is a required field.

    4. Select a Catalog Type: Stochastic (default) or Historical.
    5. To speed up export processing, increase the number of cores used; the defaults are 1 min and 1 max core.
    6. If necessary, align the currency or currency units with the source file and make selections from the .Currency drop-downs.
    7. To export the converted file to a designated folder, enter a Destination Path; be sure to include a unique file name.
      • Include comments when appropriate.

      • Indicate geographic resolution: area or subarea.

    8. To import the converted file into a specific company, enable the Import to Company checkbox and then enter the company name.

      If the company does not exist it will be created.

    9. Select the Generate Loss Market Shares checkbox to generate loss market shares for the loss set.
    10. To change the currency rate for the output, make selections from the drop-down menus.
    11. Click the Event distribution to ULF: mapping tab.
