AIR Tropical Cyclone Model for the Caribbean

The AIR Tropical Cyclone Model for the Caribbean is part of the basinwide tropical cyclone model for the Atlantic. The model shares a stochastic catalog with other AIR-modeled countries in the region, including the United States, Mexico, and Central America. This basinwide model enables global insurers and reinsurers to seamlessly assess tropical cyclone risk to portfolios and policies that span multiple countries while, at the same time, allowing local direct insurers to analyze Caribbean-specific risk.

This model captures the effects of tropical storm and hurricane force winds and precipitation-induced flood on insured properties in 29 island countries and territories in the Caribbean. For more information refer to the model documentation on the AIR Client Portal.
