Verisk Synergy Studio 2021 enhancements

These are the Verisk Synergy Studio 2021 enhancements to geocoding:

Japan

Verisk has updated:

  • Supported codes, names, and boundary data for:
    • Prefecture (Area)
    • Ku (Subarea)
    • Yubin (Postal)
  • Geocoding procedures, including:
    • Input code validation and formatting
    • Improvements in reverse geocoding of user-supplied geocodes using point-in-polygon spatial analysis with postal boundaries and centroid checking
    • Improvements in forward geocoding logic for input prefecture, municipality, postal, and Sompo codes
  • Sompo codes and logic (rules) (see the "Japan Location Information Schemes" Help topic for more information)

New Zealand

Verisk has updated the reverse geocoding process to use the highest resolution to back fill postal data instead of using SubArea2(areaunit). This helps with client postal-level reporting requirements.

United States

The product includes updated US ZIP code data.
