Premium international geocoding
Premium International Geocoding provides high-resolution geocoding that improved address-specific Verisk Synergy Studio loss, hazard, and geospatial analysis and risk management.
When Premium International Geocoding is licensed and configured, Verisk Synergy Studio users can import exposure data with street addresses and have the option of including licensed high-resolution third-party address-level geocoding services via a seamless integration with Verisk Synergy Studio. Users can control which locations are not sent to the premium geocoder by country or by line of business. If users do not license Premium International Geocoding, choose not to use it, or only have lower-resolution exposure data available, Verisk Synergy Studio will continue to use the existing default Verisk geocoder.
The following types of Verisk Synergy Studio use cases and analyses can benefit from high-resolution geocoding:
-
Small-contract or single-property underwriting, including:
- Hazard analyses for risk selection
- Local-level event intensities (LLEI)
- Distance to coast
- Flood zones
- Other hazard data
- Detailed Loss analyses for risk selection, marginal impact, or pricing
-
Verisk Synergy Studio detailed loss analyses for perils or
sub-perils with location-sensitive models or physical properties, including:
- Flood (precipitation or storm surge)
- Wildfire
- Tsunami
Important notes
- Premium International Geocoding is a licensed option in Verisk Synergy Studio. Licensing this feature requires an additional Verisk Synergy Studio amendment and fees. If you are interested in licensing this feature for use in Verisk Synergy Studio, contact your Verisk representative.
- The premium geocodes obtained by licensing this feature are restricted for use only within Verisk Synergy Studio and cannot be used outside of Verisk Synergy Studio. These geocodes are identified by the GeocoderCode = 'Syncsort' column in theSynergy StudioReference database and in the Synergy StudioExposure and Synergy StudioResult database (or renamed versions of the exposure and results databases). For the export feature, these premium geocodes are either encrypted or removed during export to comply with these contractual restrictions. Direct extracts of premium geocodes from the Verisk Synergy Studio databases are also contractually prohibited.
- Premium International Geocoding is available for licensing in Verisk Synergy Studio only for high-resolution geocoding; postal or lower-resolution geocoding will continue to use the Verisk exposure-weighted centroids for lower-resolution geocoding.
- During import or regeocoding, the premium geocodes will also be used for reverse geocoding to back fill supported Verisk Synergy Studio administrative and postal information for a given country.
- During premium geocoding processing, the premium geocoding source geo resolution from the vendor will be automatically stored in the UserGeoMatchLevel field and will automatically remap the premium geocodes source geo resolution code value to the related Verisk Synergy Studio GeoMatchLevelCode and EnhancedGeoMatchLevelCode values in several database tables, including the tLocation table in the VeriskExposure database.
- If you license premium geocoding and want to preserve the premium geocodes during
re-import, use the following guidelines:
- In the import screen, on the Options tab, set one of the preserve premium geocode options.
