Event-based adjustment factors
Event-based adjustment factors (EBAFs) are one feature of Verisk's Advanced Loss Modification (ALM) (ALM) offering.

Touchstone Re applies the factors by model to adjust the ground-up (pre-treaty terms) loss estimates on an event-by-event basis, distinguishing between area and lines of business, where applicable. Anyone can view factors in the Analysis Settings pane, but only users with the proper permissions can add and edit the factors.
The factors enable users to:
-
Customize their view of Verisk models, accounting for model variations discovered during their model validation process.
-
Incorporate new scientific findings that could alter model output before the release of an updated model.
-
Account for secondary characteristics, sub-perils, or special losses that were not included in the original model.
-
Investigate the sensitivity of model results.
