New programs are often added at the Program pane level but can also be added in the Program's Relationships tab by dragging a new program icon from the New Programs pane onto the Relationships Canvas.

Programs
A program is integral to a company and it's exposure data in Touchstone Re.
- Programs
  Programs are defined by attributes such as program type, inception and expiration dates, perils and programs covered.
- Program types
- Inuring program
  An inuring program (child) is associated with a subject reinsurance program (parent) to help reduce the amount of cedant loss, it reflects a contract that inures to the benefit of the subject program.
- Inuring order
  Contracts inure in series or in parallel (not both).

  Program Details at the top of the Program pane defines the program through a collection of attributes.
  - Program terms
    Select Terms in the Company Detail Programs tab to enter treat terms for a program.
  - Layers
    Establish layers, step-layers, and treaty terms for a new program (or to modify for an existing program).
  - Reinstatement premiums
    To account for the offset of treaty losses by premiums a field for the entry of reinsurance premiums is now available from the Program Details pane Layer tab for each treaty or layer in all program types (except Catbond).

New programs

New programs are often added at the Program pane level but can also be added in the Program's Relationships tab by dragging a new program icon from the New Programs pane onto the Relationships Canvas.

Companies > [Company] > Programs > Program Details > Relationships > New Programs

You will be prompted for a program name, and if you drop the icon onto another program already in the canvas, also for the following information as applicable:

Parent or Child
Relationship (Source or inuring)
Inuring Flow (All Downstream Programs, Next Program Only)
Perspective (Company, contract, or net retained)
Participation (100%, Gross, Net, Part 3, Part 4)

If you drop the new program onto the top (parent) program, it must be a child to that program and cannot override and become the parent.
