  An inuring program (child) is associated with a subject reinsurance program (parent) to help reduce the amount of cedant loss, it reflects a contract that inures to the benefit of the subject program.

Catbond notifications

Access to catastrophe bond remodeling files has been streamlined to directly install company files from Touchstone Re without having to separately access them via SFTP and unzip.

Clients will now receive an email notification (maximum one per day) and in the Touchstone Re user interface (Latest New > Cat bond Updates) when new catastrophe bond company data is available.

Notifications include information on new catbond remodeling files available for import. Clients will have the option to select one or multiple companies to import at their discretion. The list will indicate what is available for import, when the file became available to import, and if a file has already been imported.

There are two types of import files:

Resets: Files contain new company data that pertains to multi-year deals which are updated annually. In this case, clients do not have to provide any proof of participation on the specific cat bond, rather only need to be part of the qualified investor group administered by the Verisk ILS Team.
New inssuances: Files contain new catbond issuances released periodically throughout the year. In the case of a new issuance, there is a marketing phase (1-2 weeks) where only clients who prove participation¹ on the bond can be given updated company data.

Important: To view the Remodeling Guide associated with each catbond company import, a web browser with a PDF viewer must be installed on the local Touchstone Re client.

¹ Proof of participation is confirmed when the client emails a copy of the cover page of the offering circular to the Verisk ILS Team.
