China program data and format validation

Guidelines and requirements for the content of the China agriculture program source file.

Validation starts as soon as Import begins.

All content

All fields must be formatted as "text" regardless of content type.
The disaggregation process ignores: blank rows, case, spaces before and after data.

Header

The header row must be the first row following the currency specifications in the worksheet.
All header fields are mandatory; while disaggregation supports hidden columns, it does not support missing columns.
Labeling and spelling of column headers are validated against the specifications in the Program Source File.

ProgramName and ContractName fields

Fields contain up to 60 standard alphanumeric characters; they may not be blank.
ProgramName and ContractName pairings must be unique.

LOBs

All LOB fields must contain either "0 (not covered)" or "1 (covered)".
Field values must be consistent between records with a common ProgramName.

Site and exclude

Names are validated against names in Touchstone Re's area code database.
Site field must not be blank.

Limit% and Retention%

Numeric value must be greater than 0; up to 15 decimals of precision are supported.
Value expressed as percent of premium.
% symbol is optional.

Participation%

The numeric value must be greater than 0 and less than 100; up to 7 decimals of precision are supported.
% symbol is optional.
A blank field defaults to 99%.

Premium

The numeric value must be greater than 0.

Sub-perils

All fields must contain either "0 (not covered)" or "1 (covered)".

Disaggregate

Value must be City or County, or it can be blank.
Resolution must be higher than or equal to resolution of area specified in Site field; for more information (link) see "Program Layer Disaggregation Ratios" Help topic.

Exclude

More than one area may be specified, separated by semicolons; the names are validated against names in Touchstone Re's area code database.
Supported even if no disaggregation is requested, that is, if the Disaggregate field is blank.
The resolution must be consistent with the resolution used in the Disaggregate column, if specified.
The resolution must be higher than the resolution specified for Site, or the record will be invalidated.
City and/or county resolution is supported; both can be specified in the same Exclude field.
If the site resolution is Province, mixed resolution (i.e., city and county) is not permitted.
