China exposure data and format validation

The content of the China exposure source file must follow specific guidelines.

  • All fields must be formatted as "text" regardless of content type.

  • The disaggregation process ignores: blank rows, case, spaces before and after data.

Header

  • The header row must be the first row following the currency specifications in the worksheet.

  • All header fields are mandatory; while disaggregation supports hidden columns, it does not support missing columns.

  • Column order and spelling are validated against the specifications in the Exposure Source File.

  • Province and county are validated against names in the area code database; refer to the Touchstone Re Database Reference on Verisk's Developer Zone.

  • Include

    • Field must contain valid data which must be one area only: province, city, or county.

    • When it contains a city name the Disaggregate field must be set to 1 (disaggregate).

    • Valid site names are listing in the posting Country Abbreviations on Client Portal.

  • Exclude

    • Field must contain areas at higher resolution than the Include field if disaggregation is enabled.

    • Supports semi-colons to list multiple areas.

    • May contain mixed-resolution entries (e.g. a city and a county).

    • May contain area that is two resolution levels away from the Include area.

    • May contain overlapping areas.

    • May contain a subset of the Include area.

Exposure

  • Only positive numeric values are valid.

  • At least one exposure field, relevant to the peril selected, must contain a value.

Disaggregate

  • Field must include either 0 (do not disaggregate) or 1 (disaggregate).

  • Field must be set to 1 (disaggregate) when Include field contains a city name.
