UNICEDE/2

The UNICEDE/2 export type enables primary insurers and their treaty reinsurers to exchange aggregate sums insured, risk count, payroll, and premium data.

Before You Begin

UNICEDE/2 supports country-specific lines of business and geographic detail. The file extension for the exported file is .txt.

Procedure

To export exposure data to a UNICEDE/2 file:

  1. On the Source Exposure tab,
    1. Locate and select an Exposure Set.
      • Use the Filter in one or more columns (Exposure Set, Company, or Created) to reduce the number of Exposure Sets displayed.

      • Enter a string into the search text box.

      Once you make a selection, information is populated into the Header Data tab, most notably the ceding company name and ID.

    2. Provide information into the tabs to identify the export parameters: Source Exposure, LOB Mapping, Options, Header Data.
    3. Enter comments when appropriate.
  2. Select the Options tab.
    1. Select an exposure year from the Year menu.
    2. Select one or more countries from the Countries menu; use the toggles and/or the Selection Controls.
    3. Select a target currency from the Currency menu.
    4. Select a currency rate table from the Rate menu.
    5. Select currency units from the Units menu; thousands is the default.
    6. In the Exposure grid, toggle on those perils (e.g. wind, earthquake) by exposure type to include in the export.
  3. Select the Header Data tab.
    1. Use the name of the ceding company in the Name text box or enter a new one; this entry is required and may not be blank. This name is automatically populated when an Exposure Set is selected in Source Exposure tab.
    2. Use the ID for the ceding company in the ID text box or enter a new one; this entry is required and may not be blank. This ID is automatically populated when an Exposure Set is selected in Source Exposure tab.
    3. Select an "as of date" from the As of Date calendar.
    4. Select an export date for the source company from the Export Date calendar.
    5. For the Source Company:
      • Use the name populated from Source Exposures tab selection or enter a new one; this entry is required and may not be blank.

      • Enter export date, contact, phone, fax, and email as appropriate.

  4. Enter (or browse ) path for Export Destination and a name for the resulting file. This must be a network (UNC) path.
  5. To close this dialog automatically once the export is complete, enable the Close on Export toggle.
  6. Click Export.
  7. To monitor the progress of this task use the Activity Monitor (Tools menu).
