You can import exposure data, map layers, projects, and reinsurance packages from external sources into Touchstone databases.
About importing exposure data
You import exposure data into a Touchstone exposure database and into an exposure set.

Import & Mapping Data tab
Use the ImportExpress Import & Mapping Data tab to specify mapping set and file selection, destination database and exposure set, and creation of exposure views in projects.
Field Mapping window
Edit field mappings in ImportExpress is used to map fields and set default values before importing exposure data.

Map ImportExpress contracts or accounts fields that were not automapped by Touchstone.

Import data from external sources
You can import exposure data, map layers, projects, and reinsurance packages from external sources into Touchstone databases.

Projects and exposure views
Projects are a useful way to organize your data. They contain exposure views that contain the data that you want to focus on.

The most effective way to assess and enhance portfolio-level or contract-level catastrophe exposure data is to use Touchstone's Data Quality diagnostics. These diagnostics enable you to determine the strengths and weaknesses of the exposure data you are using for analyses and supplement that data when it is missing or weak.

Contracts or Accounts Field Mapping tab

Map ImportExpress contracts or accounts fields that were not automapped by Touchstone.

Global menu bar > Import > Exposure > Comma Separated Values (CSV) > Import & Mapping Data > Edit Mappings > Field Mapping > Contracts

Global menu bar > Import > Exposure > Open Exposure Data (OED) > Import & Mapping Data > Edit Mappings > Field Mapping > Accounts

In the Field Mapping window, on the Contracts or Accounts tab, perform the following actions:

In the FileName field, note the name of, and the path to, the import file.
On the Field Mapping tab, map fields in your source import file that ImportExpress did not recognize during the automapping process.
- You must map at least the required fields. We recommend that you also map additional fields in the import files to Touchstone fields. The more risk-specific information you import, the more accurate your loss results will be.
- Each indicates successful mapping of required fields. Each indicates that further mapping actions are needed.
On the Defaults tab, set defaults that Touchstone will use to fill in blank fields in your imported data.
