Custom models
Custom model (a.k.a Aggregate Model Builder) gives licensed users the flexibility to create their own custom models, and seamlessly integrate non-Verisk models into Touchstone Re.

This is not the same as Touchstone's Model Builder.
Custom (or Aggregate) models can be created for any country supported in Touchstone Re and some additional countries that are not traditionally modeled in Touchstone Re. These include Algeria, Argentina, Bahrain, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Croatia, Egypt, Iceland, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malaysia, Montenegro, Morocco, Oman, Papua New Guinea, Qatar, Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Thailand, Tunisia, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen.
These countries have the same support and capabilities as existing custom model-only countries (e.g., Argentina) including:
- Define custom LOBs
- Create custom model (DFF)
- Entry of Sums Insured exposure in the custom LOBs at country- and/or area-level (available in country list in all exposure sets).
- Define local currency
- Applies to Areas definitions in treaties
- Program coverage rates (custom LOBs mapping)
- Use in Zone Set Manager
- Support for Aggregate Loss only
- UNICEDE import (constructed manually with generic LOB names [LOB1, LOB2, etc.] and coverage ‘CL’)
These countries are not supported for Convert EP to ULF, UNICEDE/2 export, DLF export, or maps.
Perils
Custom models can be created for the following perils: earthquake, flood, tropical cyclone, severe thunderstorm, winter storm, and wildfire/bushfire.
Damage factor files
Custom models involve the use of user-created Damage Factor Files (DFFs). You can associate a model-specific damage factor file (DFF) to calculate losses for custom Sums Insured exposures. Touchstone Recalculates losses for custom models by multiplying event damage factors by custom sums insured to generate the ground-up losses. These are then applied to reinsurance treaty terms entered in Touchstone Re to produce contract losses. Custom models can be run in parallel to Verisk models.
