Create a zone set

Admin > Administration Console > Object Management > Zone Set Manager >

You create zone sets to accumulate exposures in regions identified for loss analysis. Verisk recommends that you review "About Zone Sets" before creating zone sets.

Procedure

  1. Enter a unique name for the zone set.
  2. Optionally, enter a brief description of the zone set.
  3. Enter a zone name to replace the default "Zone 1".
    Note:

As you create zones, the Compatibility option indicates whether the zones you are creating include supported resolutions for Detailed Loss analyses (Touchstone), for Aggregate analyses (Touchstone Re), or for both types of analyses. Both indicators are on (green) by default when you launch Zone Set Manager and are updated after you create a zone set. If you select zip (postal) codes, the Aggregate indicator turns grey (not compatible).

  4. Set up your zones:
    1. In the Global Region list, select a region.
    2. In the Country column, select one or more countries by selecting the check box next to each target country.
    3. To include all items for a selection, such as for a country, in the next column (e.g., state, province, CRESTA), select only one item at a time. When you select multiple items, Zone Set Manager fills in the next column only with geographic information related to the highlighted item.

You create a zone named "France and Germany", and then select the check boxes next to France, and Germany in the Country column. The currently highlighted country is Germany. The CRESTA column is filled in with CRESTA areas for Germany. Click , leave the "Selection" default and then click Add to Zones. There are now two zones, France and Germany. The Germany zone includes all the Germany CRESTA areas.

    4. In the next two columns, use the selection tools to include additional geographic areas (e.g. county, parish, zip code).
    5. Repeat this step to create additional zones.
  5. Click to save your work.
  6. View and further manage the zones you created in the Zones pane (far right).
  7. Click .
