Verisk Pandemic Model
The Verisk Pandemic Model estimates the spread of specific viruses and risk to health and life across the globe.
The model captures mortality in age- and gender-specific cohorts for the following countries: Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, U.K. and U.S.
Pandemic perils include influenza viruses, coronaviruses, and filoviruses, Rift valley fever and Crimean‑Congo hemorrhagic fever (both bunyaviruses), Lassa fever (an arenavirus), cholera (Vibrio cholerae), plague (Yersinia pestis), meningococcal meningitis (Neisseria meningitidis), and a family of vector-borne diseases. These pandemics are widely credited with being the largest driver of excess mortality risk in the world.
