Guidelines to Specifying the Number of Cores |
The table lists the factory-defined resource allocation scalability rules for various activity types. The table only includes activity types that are configurable in the Administration Console via the HPC Resource Management function.
This is a key to the table columns.
Activity Type Code |
The code in the ActivityType table in the AIRReference database |
Activity Type |
The activity types that you can select from the list in the HPC Node Group Association pane |
Cores |
The minimum and maximum number of cores that can be assigned to each activity type • 1 means that the activity type can use only one core. Assigning more cores would not have any effect because the activity type’s internal service is limited to using one core. • 1 - N means that the activity type can be distributed on an unlimited number of cores, although there may be diminishing returns beyond a certain point. For some activity types, AIR includes a recommendation regarding the number of cores. |
